Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. ~Leonard Cohen
Ink runs from the corners of my mouth
There is no happiness like mine.
I have been eating poetry.
~Mark Strand, “Eating Poetry,” Reasons for Moving, 1968

Ember
You betray me with your glowing wisps
of temporary.
Fade away like all, I swear, I have
no idea.
Sometimes in and always in fear of
being what you are…
hypocrite
yet glorious in your own way.
Alive yet mortal.
In hope and fear.
You come and go and I’m left fearing,
feeling… being
completely alone.
I desecrate this – sacrifice this stupid reflection
of mistake
Some people call your own and I think
is rubbish – wasteland and yearn for hope.
Is this what unites us?
Is this our binding chord..
and is it.. hope?
Do I choose to live by a code of hope
or is it
fear?
You claim to be unknown-
Fear is unknown-
Let me let it rest.
Let me carry on.. carry this..
I am socialized, but anti-social.
I am human but unfitting.. unfitted.. un-unified…
except at times.
I miss you but I dont even know you
You have detained my soul indefinitley
I see your smile in every face I look at.
Who are you?
I have memories of you and me ,and our future looks bright.
I pray for you,I call your name ,I LIVE with you
Am I dillusional?
How did you arrest me with your eyes?
I talk to you ,and think about how we met!!
I long for you,are you out there?
I dream of you ,I crave you
I miss you but I don’t know you!!!
